Education and Research in the field of law are matters of prime importance for the development of the culture of the rule of law in the country. Unfortunately, legal education has
not been accorded the required importance and priority up till now. At the time of the creation of Pakistan in 1947, there were hardly three or four law colleges in the country. Gradually the number grew appreciably but the
standard of education deteriorated. In the absence of a full-time faculty and full-time educational and research facility, the law schools lack quality of education, as there is no system of tutorials, class discussions, research
assignments and personalized attention. Realizing the urgent need for a center of excellence for law, Hamdard University has established a full-time school of Law at Karachi with a commitment to excellence in both teaching and
research. Initially, the Law School is providing legal studies graduate course, leading to the degree of LLB based on the syllabus approved by the Pakistan Bar Council. Back to The Constituent Institutions Index
