Hamdard Shura, Peshawar, held on 8th June 2004

Hamdard Majlis-e-Shura monthly session was organised on 8th June, 2004 at Hotel Pearl Continental Peshawar. Shura Speaker Dr. Abdul Mateen presided over the session. Deputy speaker of Hamdard Shura Dr. Barkat Awan was also present. The topic of discussion for the Shura was “ Indian Election Results and its political and economic effects on South Asia.

Proceedings of the Shura started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Col® Hameed Afridi. Speaker and President of the Shura introduced the topic of discussion. He was of the view that negotiations to resolve all outstanding disputes between Pakistan and India be resumed on a priority basis. Haji Mohammad Javed speaking on this occasion said that we must thoroughly study the possible effects of good relations between Pakistan and India on our Politics and Economy.  He said it is commendable that in India democracy is flourishing t while in our country democracy has still not taken firm roots. That’s why we negotiate with India with a weaker position.

Maulana Saeeduddin Sherkoti speaking on this occasion said that no one can oppose the idea of good neighborly relations between Pakistan and India, but we must keep in mind the fact that Pakistan was created on the basis of Islamic Ideology.  So whenever we decide to negotiate with India we must always keep in mind this ideology. Col.® Hameed Afridi in his observations said that the basic hurdle between Pakistan India relations up till now was this that India has not accepted the very basis of creation of Pakistan. Dr. Iqbal Khaleel speaking on this occasion said that the basic cause of our strained relations with India is the issue of Kashmir. He said that unless we resolve this core issue there could be no good relations between Pakistan and India.

Expressing his views Haji Mohammad Adeel said that we must take lession from Indian elections and thereafter smooth transfer of power. Abdul Karim Kundi said that in terms of democracy India has set some good examples and we must learn lesson from them. Hakeem Abdul Waheed expressing his views said that Congress has historically never shown friendly stance towards Pakistan, so we must take a firm stand while negotiating with present Congress government of India. Justice® Burhanuddin said that before negotiations the whole nation must be taken into confidence.

Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Awan said that we must negotiate with India on an equal basis. He said that by the grace of Allah we are an atomic power and are not inferior or weaker than any country including India. Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour expressing his views on the topic said that during the past few years the world has changed drastically. We can’t survive in isolation. He said that we must have meaningful dialogue with India. Good relations between these two neighbors will be beneficial not only for these two countries but they will also have a positive impact on the whole region.

 

Summing up the discussion Speaker of Hamdard Shura Dr. Abdul Mateen said that we must participate in negotiations with India but without any compromise on the basic principles and our stand on different issues.

Hamdard Naunehal Assembly, Peshawar June 2004

Monthly session of Bazm-e-Naunehal, Peshawar was organised on 9th June, 2004 at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar.

The chief Guest of this Bazm was Mr. Iftikhar Ali, Bureau Chief of Daily Jang, Peshawar, while Mr. Jawwad Ahmad Khan, Senior Vice President of All Pakistan Schools Management Association , NWFP, was the host of Naunehal Assembly.

The proceedings of the assembly started with the recitation from Holy Quran by Hassan Shafiq, student of Kids Montessori and School, while Noor-ul-Ain Shaharyar of Al-Syed Islamic School recited Naat. Tahir Khan and other students of F.G. Junior Public School presented a national song. Students representing different schools of Peshawar delivered speechees on the topic ”Young Generation of Pakistan and Our Future”.

Chief Guest of the assembly Mr. Iftikhar Ali said that we are proud to say that we have lived in an era of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said. He said that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said provided a very good forum for children in the form of Hamdard Naunehal Assembly, where they can polish up their capabilities.

In the elocution contest Waqas Ahmad of The Learner’s Academy, Peshawar got the First prize, while Raazia Abid of Peshawar Model School, Warsak Road got Second Prize.  Students of Fizaia Inter. College presented a tableau. Dua-e-Said was presented by students of Hira School and Computer Academy. In the end chief guest gave away the prizes to winners of elocution contest and other participants of different items.

Hamdard Shura, Rawalpindi, held on 1st June 2004

Monthly session of Hamdard Shura, Rawalpindi / Islamabad chapter was organised at Hamdard Markaz, Rawalpindi on 1st June 2004. Speaker of Hamdard Shura, Rawalpindi Admiral® Iftikhar Ahmad Sirohi was in the chair. The topic of discussion was “Indian Election Results and its Political & Economic Effects on South Asia”.

Participants of this Shura session included Gen® Hameed Gul, Prof. Syed Wadood Jilani, Qazi Sagheer-ul-Haq, Anjum Khokhar, Brig.® Shams-ul-Haq Qazi, Dr. Murtaza Moosvi, Begum Dr. Shagufta Moosvi, Prof. B. A. Shaikh, Dr. S.M. Zaman, Dr. Ghulam Murtaza, Dr. Rasheed Nisar, Qazi Arif advocate and Major® Dr. Shamsa Baqai.

Initiating the discussion, Shura President Admiral® Iftikhar Ahmad Sirohi in his opening remarks said that election results of India and subsequent change of government there wont affect significantly Pakistan India relations. He said that we must learn lesson from the Indian elections and smooth transfer of power. We also must strengthen democracy in our country. He urged that we must strive hard to protect our Ideological and political borders. He said that our identity is with Islam and Pakistan only.

Former chief of I.S.I and member of Hamdard Shura Gen.® Hameed Gul said that in Afghanistan our policies have failed totally. He said in Afghanistan there is such a government in power which is hostile to Pakistan and friendly to India. He said though we have allied ourselves with America in its war against terrorism, but still our western borders are not safe. This is a failure of our policy.

Brig.® Shams-ul-Haq Qazi said that he thinks new government of India wont be able to solve country’s economic problems but America will continue its efforts to make India a superpower against China. Dr. Murtaza Moosvi expressing his views on the subject said that instead of discussing Indian economy we must improve our own condition and we must strengthen ourselves internally. Prof. Syed Abdul Wadood Jilani said that issue of Kashmir must be resolved first of all, only after that cordial relations with India can be established. Qazi Sagheer-ul-Haq was of the view that Indian election results will definitely have an impact on Pakistan’s politics too. Qazi Arif advocate and Dr. Rasheed Nisar also expressed their views on the topic of discussion.

Hamdard Naunehal Assembly, Rawalpindi, June 2004

 Bazm-e-Hamdard Naunehal, Rawalpindi was organised on 31st May 2004 in Hamdard Markaz, Rawalpindi.  Col.® Ghulam Sarwar presided over the function. Kiran Pervaiz, student of City English School Rawalpindi, performed as speaker of this Naunehal assembly.

Proceedings of the assembly started with the recitation from Holy Quran by Nanam-ul-Hasan, student of City Cambridge School, Qasimabad, while Hamd was recited by Hafiz Mohammad Khalid of Minhaj-ul-Quran Model School. Baqar Ali of Al-Marij Foundation School presented Naat.

After this students of various schools of Rawalpindi took part in elocution contest on the topic “ Children of Pakistan—Our Future”

Chief Guest gave away prizes to winners of the elocution contest.
